The idea of creating a knowledge archive to bring the knowledge which is on countless MP3’s from Aaravindha’s seminars, oracle sessions and talks into a form in which Sambodha teachers can have access to those parts of the knowledge that they need at any given time has been around for some time now. Aside of the sound recordings available in the MP3 format, there is also a large number of various documents and visual materials that we also wish to put into a structure so that whoever needs any of these materials can have easy access to them.

During the last Intensive II, the Chakra-course, this idea finally took form in the Knowledge-Archiving-Project. This project has a considerable number of participants (more than 20) – but this also is, after all, a very large and complex project, which will bring the ancient Solar Knowledge which Aaravindha has brought forth over the last years into an accessible form using the modern-day technical possibilities. We are currently in the conceptual phase and various roles have already taken form, which project participants can take on. These are briefly introduced below, which at the same time also introduces the project as a whole. This is an international project with German and English speaking participants, so the role titles below will be used among both English and German speaking people to establish a common language for all participants:

Structure Builders create an ontological skeleton for the knowledge that will help us be well organized and that will help anybody using the archive finding what they are looking for as quickly and effortlessly as possible. This may include a hierarchy, but also keywords or labels. In addition to the structuring of contents by themes, there will of course also be a chronological structure based on the seminars, seminar days and sessions.

Developers create a database that provides all the required features, and is easy to use - or select an existing database (however, since we have somewhat complex requirements concerning permissions and languages, we may not find something "out-of-the-box" which at the same time integrates well with the existing Website-portal-system).

Audio-Organizers rely on the knowledge structure and may enhance it, if needed. The idea is to find out where a piece of knowledge starts, where it ends, and where it belongs.

Audio-Editors take existing MP3s which are organized in their chronological order and cut them into the pieces defined by the audio-organizers. Audio-Editors may also enhance the MP3s for optimal sound quality.

Narrators: In the Intensives there are often personal questions, some of which may be relevant for everyone and therefore should be included in the Knowledge Archive. It is of course a given, that we protect the privacy of the individual seminar participants. Furthermore, it is in many cases very difficult to acoustically hear some of the questions on the MP3s. Therefore we will take some personal questions and perhaps rephrase them and have a neutral speaker (Narrator) to re-record them, so that the question itself and its answer is available for all, but the identity of the person who originally asked the question is not known. Narrators need to be able to physically meet with audio-engineers for recording their voice-parts.

Audio-Engineers work with narrators and audio-editors to finalize the audio-materials. They do the recordings of new questions, announcements, etc. together with the Narrators.

Transcribers write down what Aaravindha says on the MP3s so that we have the knowledge also in written form. Transcribers need to have a good understanding of the English language and it sure helps if you can type fast ;-)

Transcription-QA (QA = Quality Assurance) check whether the transcripts are correct and exactly true to the original. This also includes improving punctuation and grammar issues that may require more attention in written language, than in its original spoken form.

Translators translate in an exact manner the results of the work of the Transcribers, after it has been approved by the Transcription-QA.

Document-Organizers: There are various documents, including materials from Aaravindha's seminars as well materials other teachers have created and wish to make available to the teacher-community. These documents can also be organized with the structure the Structure Builders have established. Document organizers are responsible for categorizing these documents properly into the structure, so that they can be easily found by those who need them.

Document-Layouters: The Design-Team is currently designing a Sambodha CI with logos, specific fonts and further design guidelines. The idea is to ensure that we establish a common "Look & Feel" for Sambodha. Document-Layouters have the responsibility to assure that all documents comply with the Sambodha CI, or do the actual implementation of that CI in the documents. Furthermore, document-layouters can professionally layout the documents so that they are very readable and easy to understand. Document-Layouters work closely with the Design-Team and Sampravac-Team.

Jashan is coordinating this project. Participants of the series of Intensives for Spiritual Teachers with Aaravindha Himadra are cordially welcome to register for this project if they wish to collaborate in this (it will be very helpful if you directly specify which of the given roles you would like to take on within the project) - we won’t be out of work with this any time soon. We hope that all others will be patient with us – the first usable results will surely take a while yet...
