The Chakra Vidya

Chakra400x440.jpg

The word Chakra is a Sanskrit term that denotes a "hub, wheel or sphere." Vidya is another Sanskrit term that can be translated as, "body of knowledge." A more accurate portrayal of the term chakra, as it pertains to the Chakra vidya, is to describe a chakra as a profound sphere of influence that interacts with other chakras, which together form a twelve-fold foundation for the expression of the Devatapratima. The Devatapratima is the Divine Image in the human form. It is the High Self prototype, which we collectively share, and depend upon for our expression of life and its infinitely diverse creativity.

Various religious traditions around the world have diversely described their chakra systems as having three, five, seven, ten, or twelve chakras. The most common number of chakras offered through the Eastern lines of spiritual knowledge is seven. There are seven regions to which these chakras belong. Although these seven regions should not be confused with the actual number of chakras. There are actually twelve chakras in all; three chakras located in each of the four Trikas. Although all of the chakras interact within a single system, here at Sambodha we are presenting a very ancient, complete and pure system of chakra knowledge that delineates the chakras into four Trikas. A Chakra Trika is a tier of three closely interactive chakras that find expression within a specified level of manifesting power. Each of these trikas is spread sequentially along the vertical rise of a central meridian. That central meridian can be divided into three successively descending regions, known as the Brahmarandra Nada, the Amrithi Nada and the Shushumna Nada.

Unlike most other chakra agamas or vidyas, the science offered through the Acararka Paramapara Devapatha, "the Great Solar lineage," describes the chakras beginning from the inside rather then from the outside. In other words, most all chakra sciences today describe an ascent of seven chakras, which begins in the physical root, located at the base of the spine, and ends in the uppermost crown of the head. Here in Sambodha we teach this knowledge in reverse, as we recognize as the ancients once did, that our consciousness is empowered and originated from within. Simply stated, we are created from the inside out. Not the other way around. Thus the first chakra is described as the Sahasrara crown chakra, and the last and twelfth chakra is located in the base of the spine.

The four Chakra Trikas in their descending order are:

1. The Sambodha Trika - The Sambodha Trika refers to the three chakras that act as the supra-embodiments of High Self Knowledge. In their descending order, its three chakras are the Sahasrara Chakra, the Mulakarana Chakra, and the Soma Chakra.

2. The Vijnana Trika - The Vijnana Trika embodies the essential Psychogenic triple matrix of the mind. It is built upon the principles of sensorial receptivity, distinction, discrimination, intellection, memory and actualization. In their descending order, its three chakras are the Sadayathana Chakra, the Ajna Chakra, and the Manobhava Chakra.

3. The Pratibha Trika - Through the Pratibha Trika the two highest principles of pure mind are experienced as a receptive ability to hear and feel. Here too, Maya, (the veiling power of consciousness) joins with the senses, leading to the ability to see in the next lower Trika. In their descending order, its three chakras are the Vishudha Chakra, the Hridya Chakra, and the Hrit Chakra.

4. Sambhoga Trika - Sambhoga Trika corresponds to the three lower bodies of the essential human; the physical energetic and mental bodies. In their descending order, its three chakras are the Manipura Chakra, the Swadhisthana Chakra and the Muladhara Chakra.

The Chakra Vidya body of knowledge, taught through the Sambodha community is a vast science that can, when properly understood, reveal most all of the underlying principles of our human Divine Relationship. It provides the sincere with a profound base of otherwise unattainable knowledge. In addition, it brings to completion many of the incongruities one might encounter in most all of the other chakra sciences available today. It is sound and profoundly balanced. If properly understood and applied it can offer the spiritual student and teacher with information and knowledge that is simply not available through any other form of chakra study.
